How to pay less for PlayStation games in India
- Compare before you buy. Disc prices on Amazon.in, Flipkart and Games The Shop are often well below the PlayStation Store. Every game page here lists them side by side.
- Time it to the sales. The PlayStation Store’s biggest sales are Days of Play, Black Friday and the year-end holiday sale. Our PlayStation sale calendar has the dates.
- Pay with UPI through gift cards. The PS Store doesn’t take UPI directly, but gift cards bought with UPI work. See our PSN gift card guide.
- Buy discs if you sell your games. Big releases keep a good share of their value second-hand. Our physical vs digital guide does the maths.

What is the best PlayStation game?
There’s no single answer, but the games most often named are God of War (2018), The Last of Us, Bloodborne, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ghost of Tsushima. On PS5 specifically, Astro Bot, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Ghost of Yōtei are the standouts.
Can a PS5 play PS4 games?
Yes. The PS5 plays well over 4,000 PS4 games, from disc or digital. Sony lists only about ten PS4 games that don’t work. Many PS4 games also run better on PS5, and some have free PS5 upgrades.
Can a PS5 play PS2 or PS3 games?
Not from disc. The PS5 only reads PS5 and PS4 discs. You can play many PS1 and PS2 games as digital re-releases on the PlayStation Store or through PS Plus Deluxe, and some PS3 games have been remastered for PS4 or PS5.
Are PlayStation games cheaper on disc or digital in India?
New releases are usually cheaper on disc from Amazon.in, Flipkart or gaming shops, and you can resell them. Digital is often cheaper during PlayStation Store sales, especially for older games. Our game pages show both.
What are the upcoming PlayStation exclusives?
Until Dawn 2 is due on 28 January 2027 and God of War Laufey on 16 February 2027. Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has been announced without a date.
