Short answer: Xbox Game Pass costs ₹499 a month for Essential, ₹699 for Premium, ₹879 for PC Game Pass and ₹1,089 for Ultimate in India. Ultimate and PC Game Pass both got cheaper on 21 April 2026. If you play on PC, PC Game Pass is the best value. On console, Ultimate is the one that gets new Microsoft games on day one.

What changed in 2025 and 2026
- October 2025: Microsoft reshaped Game Pass. Core became Essential, Standard became Premium, and prices jumped. Ultimate went from ₹829 to ₹1,389 a month.
- November 2025: Xbox Cloud Gaming launched in India, so you can stream games to a phone, laptop or TV.
- April 2026: Ultimate dropped to ₹1,089 and PC Game Pass to ₹879. At the same time, new Call of Duty games stopped arriving on Game Pass at launch. They now come about a year later.
If you subscribed before October 2025 and kept auto-renew on, you may still be paying an older price. Check your current price before you cancel. If it’s lower than today’s, keep auto-renew on, because rejoining puts you on the current price.
Which Game Pass plan should you buy?
- You play on a PC: PC Game Pass. It has day-one games and EA Play included, for ₹210 less than Ultimate.
- You own an Xbox and want new games on release day: Ultimate.
- You own an Xbox and are happy playing games a year after launch: Premium saves you ₹390 a month.
- You only want online multiplayer and a few games: Essential.

- You don’t own an Xbox or a gaming PC: any plan except PC Game Pass lets you stream games through Xbox Cloud Gaming. You’ll want a controller and a steady connection of 20 Mbps or more.
How to pay for Game Pass in India
The Microsoft Store takes UPI, and Xbox gift cards from Amazon.in, Flipkart and Paytm work too. Indian card rules on recurring payments mean auto-renew can fail, so many people buy a gift card each month instead. Don’t buy cheap Game Pass codes from grey-market sites; region-locked codes often won’t work on an Indian account.
