PS5 price in India today: disc vs digital, every price change since launch

Short answer: as of October 2026, the PS5 Slim with a disc drive costs ₹69,990 in India and the PS5 Slim Digital Edition costs ₹49,990. The disc model went up by ₹15,000 in late July 2026. Sony India never announced it, but the new price appeared on Sony’s own store and on MRP stickers in shops.

Some shops still have older boxes stickered at ₹54,990. If you find one, that’s a genuine saving. Just make sure it’s a sealed unit with an Indian warranty card and a GST bill.

Every PS5 price change in India

Console prices have gone up in several countries this year, and India’s disc price rose in July. Don’t count on a discount soon.

Disc or Digital: which one should you buy now?

The gap between the two is now ₹20,000, and that changes the old advice.

• Buy the Digital Edition if you mostly play online games, use PS Plus Extra, or buy games during PlayStation Store sales. You save ₹20,000 up front, and that pays for a lot of games.
• Buy the disc model if you buy new releases at launch and sell them after you finish. Big games on disc keep a good share of their value on the used market here, so selling a finished game takes a real bite out of what you paid. Our physical vs digital guide has the numbers.

You can add a disc drive to the Digital Edition later, but the add-on drive isn’t always in stock in India, so don’t plan around it.

Controllers and accessories

Sony runs accessory discounts in its Days of Play sale (late May to June), around Black Friday and in a holiday sale at the end of December.

Where to buy a PS5 in India

Sony’s own store (ShopAtSC), Sony Centres, Amazon.in, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales and Games The Shop all sell it. Stock comes and goes, so check two or three before you give up.

Avoid sellers charging more than MRP and anyone selling a “PS5 Pro” for suspiciously little. Imported consoles don’t get Sony India’s warranty, and repairs without warranty are expensive.

Before you buy a used PS5

A used PS5 can save you ₹10,000 or more, but check it properly. Our 12-point used PS5 checklist covers the things sellers don’t mention.
