About Bloodborne
Bloodborne sends you to Yharnam, a gothic city consumed by a disease that turns people into beasts, on the night of the Hunt. You arrive looking for a cure called paleblood and end up hunting monsters, and uncovering something far worse.
FromSoftware built Bloodborne to be faster than Dark Souls. There are no shields. Instead, the Rally system lets you win back health by hitting back quickly after taking damage, so the game rewards aggression. Trick weapons switch between two forms mid-combo, and a gun in your off-hand can stagger enemies if your timing is perfect.
Yharnam’s streets, cathedrals and sewers twist back on each other in clever ways, and the story moves from gothic horror into something much stranger. Like other FromSoftware games, most of it is told through item descriptions and the world itself.
The Old Hunters expansion adds some of the best bosses the studio has made.
Expect around 30 to 35 hours for a first playthrough.
