The best PS Plus Extra games right now are Ghost of Tsushima, God of War Ragnarök, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Horizon Forbidden West and Returnal. If you only play one this month, make it Red Dead Redemption 2, because it leaves the catalogue on 17 November 2026.

Leaving soon: play these first

These games leave the Extra catalogue on Tuesday 17 November 2026. After that they stay in your library but won’t start unless you buy them.

New in October 2026

Seven games joined Extra in October, on 20 October in India and most regions:

  • Mafia: The Old Country (PS5): a story-led gangster drama set in 1900s Sicily. A short, focused game you can finish in a couple of weekends.
  • Horizon Forbidden West (PS5, PS4): Aloy’s second adventure. Huge, gorgeous and packed with machine fights. One of the best-looking games on PS5.
  • Mycopunk (PS5): a four-player co-op shooter that launched straight into the catalogue.
  • The Midnight Walk (PS5): a handmade-looking dark fairy tale, also playable in PS VR2.
  • Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition (PS5, PS4): a big, generous Japanese RPG with flashy combat, plus its story expansion.
  • Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 (PS5, PS4): toy factory horror for people who like a jump scare.
  • Monster Energy Supercross 25 (PS5): the official supercross game.

The best Extra games by mood

Big PlayStation exclusives

  • Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut (PS5, PS4): samurai open world with the best sword fighting on the console.
  • God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök (PS4, PS5): play them in order, because Ragnarök picks up the father and son story exactly where the first left off.
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2 (PS5): all three Insomniac Spider-Man games, worth well over ₹10,000 if you bought them.
  • Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered and Horizon Forbidden West (PS5): start with Zero Dawn for the story.
  • The Last of Us Part I and Part II Remastered (PS5): heavy, brilliant and not for a light mood.
  • Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection (PS5): two big cinematic adventures in one.
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5): the best showcase for what the PS5 can do, and great for younger players too.

Hard but fair

  • Demon’s Souls (PS5): the remake that launched with the PS5. The best place to start with souls games.
  • Bloodborne (PS4): FromSoftware at its best. Tough, gothic, unforgettable.
  • Returnal (PS5): a fast, demanding shooter where every death sends you back to the start.
  • Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition (PS5, PS4): a huge, beautiful 2D adventure that will test you.
  • Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty (PS5): fast, aggressive sword fighting set in ancient China.

Long stories to sink into

  • Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Final Fantasy XVI (PS5).
  • Persona 5 Royal (PS5, PS4): stylish, funny and very long. A whole season’s worth of evenings.
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (PS5): a slow, realistic medieval RPG for people who like living in a world.
  • Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5): years of patches and the 2.0 update rebuilt it, and it now plays far better than at launch.
  • Death Stranding Director’s Cut (PS5): strange, divisive and like nothing else.

Short games for a weekend

  • Mafia: The Old Country (PS5).
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (PS5, PS4): a tight, shorter Spider-Man story.
  • Still Wakes the Deep (PS5): a short, gripping horror story on an oil rig.
  • Celeste (PS4): a tough, kind platformer about climbing a mountain.
  • Sayonara Wild Hearts (PS5): a music video you play in one sitting.

Play with friends

  • It Takes Two (PS5, PS4): the best two-player co-op game in years. Needs two people, couch or online.
  • Helldivers 2 (PS5): chaotic four-player co-op shooting, with friendly fire very much on.
  • Mycopunk (PS5): new this month, four-player co-op.
  • Mortal Kombat 1 (PS5): for settling arguments on the sofa.

Hidden gems

  • Dredge (PS5, PS4): a fishing game that slowly turns into a horror story.
  • Blue Prince (PS5): a puzzle mansion that rearranges itself every day.
  • Return to Monkey Island (PS5): funny, warm point-and-click adventure.
  • Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (PS5): a sharp, fast 2D action game that deserved more players.

How the Extra catalogue changes

Sony announces new Extra games on a Wednesday in the second week of each month, and they arrive on the following Tuesday, usually the third Tuesday. Games leaving go on the same day. Since June 2026, the US, UK and Japan get some games in batches across the month, but other regions, India included, normally get the whole batch on the main Tuesday.

That makes November’s likely dates an announcement on Wednesday 11 November and new games on Tuesday 17 November. The catalogue can differ slightly by country, so if a game isn’t showing on your console, it may not be offered in India.

Is Extra worth it over Essential?

A year of Extra costs ₹8,709, which is ₹3,570 more than Essential. That’s less than one new PS5 game at full price. If you play even two catalogue games a year that you’d otherwise buy, Extra pays for itself. Our PS Plus plans guide has the full comparison, and our monthly games page covers what every tier gets each month.
