Is it worth it?
A strong choice for PS5 owners who loved Ghost of Tsushima or enjoy open-world games built around swordplay. If you're buying now, the Complete Edition is the better value because it includes the new story expansion and survival mode.

About Ghost of Yōtei
Ghost of Yōtei is Sucker Punch’s standalone follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima. It’s set in 1603 in Ezo, the land now known as Hokkaido. You play Atsu, a wandering mercenary hunting the Yōtei Six, the group that killed her family and left her for dead sixteen years earlier. It’s a simple revenge setup, but you get a lot of say over the order in which you track down your targets.
Atsu carries a wider arsenal than Jin did in Tsushima. She can switch between katana, dual katana, ōdachi, yari and kusarigama, and she also has bows and firearms. A weapon counter system replaces the old stances. You can sneak, disarm enemies, use a grappling hook from the start and call on a wolf in fights. The open world has dynamic weather and plenty of side stories to find.
It launched on PS5 on 2 October 2025. A free update called Legends added online co-op in March 2026, and the Complete Edition followed on 1 October 2026 with the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion and the Most Wanted survival mode.
The main story takes around 30 hours, rising to about 46 with side content.
