Which platforms is it on?

PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam, Battle.net and the Xbox app. There’s no PS4 or Xbox One version this year, so last-gen owners are out. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is coming later; Activision hasn’t given it a date.

Standard or Vault?

The Standard Edition gets you the game, the game and the Hunter Killer operator skin. Its open beta bonus has already passed.

The Vault Edition adds two operator packs, the Signature Weapon Collection, one season of BlackCell and a DMZ deployment bonus. On PS5 that costs ₹2,250 more. It’s only worth it if you play multiplayer every week and would buy BlackCell anyway. If you mainly want the campaign, buy Standard.

When does it unlock in India?

On PlayStation the game unlocks at 12:00 AM IST on 23 October (the night of 22 October). Steam’s listing shows a later unlock on 23 October, so PC players may start a few hours after console players. Digital pre-orders also got campaign early access from 16 October.

Is it on Game Pass?

No. Since April 2026, new Call of Duty games come to Game Pass about a year after launch instead of on day one. If you want to play now, you have to buy it. More on that in our Game Pass India guide.

Can my PC run Modern Warfare 4?

You need 115GB free on an SSD at any setting. A hard drive won’t do.

A typical Indian mid-range build with an RTX 3050 or a GTX 1660 and 16GB of RAM should handle 1080p at low to medium settings. If your laptop has only 8GB of RAM, close Chrome and other apps before you play.

Cheapest way to buy MW4 in India

1. On PC, buy on Steam. It’s ₹1,000 cheaper than on the PlayStation Store, and Steam takes UPI. See how to pay on Steam in India.
2. On PS5, pay with a PlayStation Store gift card bought with UPI if your card gives trouble.
3. Hold off on Vault until you know you’ll stick with multiplayer. You can upgrade later.
