Is the Nintendo Switch 2 available in India? Price, warranty and how to buy games

Nintendo doesn't officially sell the Switch 2 in India. Imports cost ₹50,000 to ₹76,000 with no local warranty, and there's no Indian eShop. Here is how people here actually buy and play.

Short answer: no. Nintendo doesn’t officially sell the Switch 2 in India, there’s no Indian warranty or service centre, and there’s no Indian Nintendo eShop. Imported consoles sell for roughly ₹50,000 to ₹76,000 depending on the seller and the bundle.

What a Switch 2 costs in India

WhereTypical price
Gaming shops (imported)₹55,000 to ₹65,000
Online marketplaces at launchUp to ₹75,999
Lowest prices seen recentlyAround ₹50,000

Every one of these is a grey import, usually from Japan, the US, the UK or the UAE. Prices move with stock and with the rupee.

The warranty problem

Nintendo has no service network in India. If the console or a Joy-Con breaks, your only options are the shop’s own warranty (get it in writing), a local repair shop, or posting it abroad. Buy from a shop that has been around for years, keep the bill, and test everything before you leave the counter.

How do you buy Switch games in India?

There is no Indian eShop, so your Nintendo Account’s country decides which store you see. Many Indian players use a US, UK or Japanese account and pay with that region’s Nintendo eShop gift cards, which shops and online sellers here stock. Physical cartridges are often the simpler option, and they keep their resale value well.

Pick your account region once and stick with it. Changing it later is a pain, and leftover wallet money doesn’t move with you.

Will Nintendo launch officially in India?

Nothing is confirmed. In May 2026 there was a report that Nintendo might bring the original Switch to India officially in 2027 through the distributor Redington, at around ₹20,000. That report didn’t include the Switch 2. Until Nintendo says something itself, assume imports are the only way.

Should you buy the original Switch instead?

The original Switch is still a great console with a huge library. Imported, a Switch OLED costs about ₹35,000 and a Switch Lite about ₹21,000. If you mostly want Mario, Zelda and Pokémon and don’t need the newest games, it’s a far cheaper way in.
