Modern Warfare 4 arrives on 23 October, GTA VI on 19 November: what to know before you pre-order

The two biggest launches of the year land a month apart. Release dates, platforms and some honest pre-order advice for players in India.

Short answer: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on 23 October 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. Grand Theft Auto VI follows on 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There’s no PC version of GTA VI at launch.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

Activision confirmed the 23 October date when it revealed the game earlier this year. It’s the next entry in the Modern Warfare series, with the usual campaign, multiplayer and co-op modes. The big news this year is the Nintendo Switch 2 version, the first new Call of Duty on a Nintendo console in a long time.

If you mostly play Warzone, remember that Warzone stays free to play. You only need Modern Warfare 4 for the campaign, the full multiplayer and the new co-op content.

Grand Theft Auto VI

Rockstar’s game has been delayed before, but Take-Two has repeatedly said 19 November is still the date. It’s set in a modern take on Vice City and the surrounding state of Leonida, with two lead characters, Lucia and Jason.

PC players will have to wait. Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC version or a date for one. That’s normal for the series, as GTA V also came to PC well after its console launch.

Should you pre-order?

  • Digital pre-orders mean the game is ready to play at launch, and you can usually cancel a PS Store pre-order before release. Read the store’s refund rules first.
  • Disc pre-orders from Amazon.in and Flipkart can come with bank offers, but delivery on launch day isn’t always guaranteed outside big cities.
  • Deluxe editions rarely add much you’ll miss. If you’re not sure, buy the standard edition and upgrade later.

We’ll add India prices for both games as stores list them. Add them to your saved list on GameJila to check later, and keep an eye on our release calendar for everything else coming out this year.
