  This version of the game was developed for the PlayStation 3 console by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games. This is the first game in the series and the prequel to Borderlands 2 that came out in September of 2012. Borderlands has a Pegi rating of 18 and above while ESRB has rated this game M17+ as it may contain blood and gore, intense violence, mature humor and strong language. This game features single player, multiplayer and co-op modes for additional fun with friends.
  
  Synopsis and Features
  
  When you first start Borderlands, you have to choose your character out of the four options available. Choose from Roland the soldier, Mordecai the hunter, Lilith the siren and Brick the berserker. Each character has a special skill and their proficiencies with different weapons vary. Once you start, you will get missions from bounty boards and non-player characters. When you finish a mission, you will receive experience points, rewards and money that you can use to further advance your position. Gain experience by killing enemies and completing in game challenges to improve your character. When you gain enough experience points you can apply them to your character’s skill tree which features three specializations. These specializations improve your character on the whole, making you a more effective killer.
  
  In the beginning, players are only allowed to carry two weapons, but as they progress, they are allowed to carry up to 4 weapons. Money plays an important factor as it helps you buy better weapons for your character. Collect weapons on your travels across Pandora and sell them to the vendors to make extra money. Another amazing feature of this game is the use of the Procedural Content Creation System that creates weapons with different statistics, which means when you collect weapons and items from enemies you have just killed or from storage chests, the weapon or item will be different every time with varying stats. This system is also used to create enemies who have different characteristics and attacking styles making the game more interesting. The main story of this game follows the search for the hidden alien vault that is hidden on Pandora. This vault contains advanced alien weaponry and the Atlas Corporation sends their private military force to recover the artifacts before you do.
